Sports-a-rama is this Friday! The students will have a great time competing in a variety of athletic events. Please make sure to have them wear sunscreen as we will be in the sun a great deal that day. If you would like to get a jump on your volunteer hours for next year, contact Coach Salabaj for more details. Have a great week!

Curriculum update:
LANGUAGE ARTS - We will finishTheme 9 this week in our text book. We will be learning about suffixes - ful, ly, and y. Our spelling test will focus on the oi sound as in coin, boy, point, etc. All students need a minimum of 5 AR points with 85% comprehension. Most students are well on their way. AR is 5% of your child's homework grade, so please encourage your child to take AR tests frequently. We will be going to the computer lab this Thursday to take a test on a book of their choice.
MATH - We will finish Unit 9 in our math text this week. We will have our Unit 9 test on Tuesday. Please review cups, pints, and quart measurements with your child. In Chapter 10, the students will learn how to add double digits such as 10 + 12. Students should continue memorizing math facts to eighteen.
SCIENCE - We will finish our unit on rocks and soil this week. There will be a test on Wednesday.
RELIGION - We will study Chapter 24 in our Faith First Text. There will not be a test on Friday. We will also continue with our Growing In Love series. Each student must return the booklet that will be sent home in the homework folder. Please be sure to sign and return it on Friday as it counts towards you child's religion grade. Many students either did not return the Growing in Love booklet or did not have it signed. This will have a negative impact on your child's religion grade. Please make sure to help your child with the booklet.
Reminders:
1. Please sign and return Growing in Love booklets.
2. Practice math facts through 18.
3. Compare cups/pints/quarts.
4. Take AR tests in the computer lab after school.
